Share the Warmth - Hydro

Share the Warmth is a non-for-profit, province-wide program that assists low-income households with their heating and energy needs. Eligible households can receive a one-time grant towards their hydro account or the provision of any deliverable fuels. Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Seniors (over 60) living alone
• Disabled persons living alone
• Terminally ill persons living alone
• Families defined as a minimum of one adult and:
  • one child (A child is anyone under 21 or over 21 and in school full-time)
  • one senior (over 60)
  • one disabled or terminally ill person
  • Exhausted other means of assistance
  • Has not accessed the STW program in the same heating season (Aug – July)
  • A direct payer for energy (bill must be in the name of a household member)
